Lovers of Hungary’s Sziget Festival are in for a digital treat as the festival has launched its first-ever NFT collection. In collaboration with Nimi Collectibles Inc, the festival has announced that it will be releasing the collection this autumn and asset holders will be treated to special perks.

All About the Collection

The collection will launch on the SzigetVibes website and will use the tagline ‘Collect memories, not things’. The NFTs themselves will be of various memories and photographs taken during the 2022 edition of the festival.

It will also see creative input from artist Tim King and those who hold them can claim backstage passes, discounts to future festivals, and so on. For a limited amount of time, fans can sign up on the site and get free NFTs but given how popular the festival is, attracting almost half a million people this year, these will likely be claimed quickly.

The  Sziget Festival is following in the footsteps of other major festivals such as Coachella which have released NFTs recently. In the case of Coachella, there were not only NFTs of festival content but also lifetime access passes that sold for around a quarter of a million dollars.

Seeing how Sziget has also released its own NFTs, this trend seems to be spreading fast among major festivals.
