Highly coveted automobile manufacturer, Bentley, has become the latest luxury brand to delve into the realm of NFTs. The first destination for the iconic brand, as it departs down the Web3 super highway.
Its initial foray will see 208 tokens land on the blockchain this coming September, with each featuring stunning depictions of the famed automobiles fresh from the drawing board of the Bentley Design team. They will arrive in a wheel-spinning style on the eco-friendly, carbon-neutral Polygon Network.
The number 208 holds a special significance for the company, representing the top speed of its flagship Grand Tourer, while also being the number of its pioneering 1952 R-Type Continentals that went into production. These are the two vehicles that have come to define one of the world’s most recognizable auto manufacturers.
Bentley’s grand NFT collection will include as yet unspecified rewards and utility, promising both real world and virtual perks as the company looks to build a community of automobile lovers within the Web3 ecosystem. A myriad of metaverse and blockchain gaming initiatives will be launched at a later date.
