Yuga Labs have announced a donation of $1 million to fund arts and education projects in their hometown – Miami. Founders Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow have pledged their contribution to uplift under-resourced communities in the city. As the campaign’s first step, the company dedicated $300,000 to the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund. Read on to learn more about the campaign below.
How Will The Yuga Labs Donation Help Miami?
BAYC founders Greg and Wylie are both Miami natives with significantly different origin stories. A chance encounter in the Magic City ten years ago led to them creating history with the NFT project. They also truly understand the city’s embracing charisma and vibrant culture. The latest commitment sees the founders and fellow Miamian Yuga Labs CEO Nicole Muniz give back to their hometown.
As a result of the Yuga Labs donation, the BAYC creators also look to maximize the potential of the next generation of innovators and creators from the city. The Venture Miami Scholarship Fund helps qualified students pursue their STEM education free of debt. The fund allows under-resourced students to choose and follow a bachelor’s degree in STEM or a high-wage, in-demand occupation with free tuition.

We’re thrilled to join forces with them to provide Miamians the education they need to earn sought-after careers with high-paying wages.” – stated Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. Moreover, this announcement follows previous charitable donations by Bored Ape Yacht Club. They had earlier donated 10,000,000 ApeCoin to the Jane Goodall Foundation and also directed some of their creator fees from the Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) to animal conservation charities.
