Top 10 Nft Collectibles For Sports Fans | Nft News

A round up of the 10 best NFT sports collectibles

Accumulation and collection are both huge parts of the NFT world. And sports have been a part of human history as long as the wheel has. Put them both together and you get dedicated communities who share, trade and talk about the collectibles they hold. We’ve put together a list of the top 10 NFT collectibles that all sports fans should know about.

NBA Top Shot

Dapper Labs’ monstrously successful NBA Top Shot is the gold standard of sport NFT collections. Launched in July 2019 as a digital reproduction of traditional trading card culture, NBA Top Shot was ahead of the curve from the start. Now, cards in high demand have an average sale price of $68,000.

MLB Champions

MLB Champions began life in 2018 as an NFT collectibles platform but also an actual game. But the game ended in 2020 and now the minted NFTs are traded on secondary markets. The avatars are little bobble head figures striking various poses and they have a current floor price of 0.005 ETH ($17 at the time of writing). So if you want to buy yourself a piece of history, it’s definitely affordable.

Sorare

Counting Antoine Griezmann and Gerard Piqué among its official backers, Sorare is a platform for collecting soccer NFTs. Fans can buy trading cards from players all over the world, which they can use to manage virtual teams. Despite launching in 2019, the platform still looks like it was designed by an incredibly enthusiastic fan. This should improve over time.

Torque Squad

The Torque Squad was built for the motorsport community. The motor racing NFT collection just launched to the public and is already offering real-world utilities to its collectors. Holders can win tickets to the upcoming F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne, Australia and the project promises more goodies on the way. With backing from Animoca Brands and a place in the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, this is certainly one collection to watch.

Bryson DeChambeau Limited Edition NFTs

The collection comprises 73 editions of five different cards and the current NFT floor price is 10.4 ETH ($33,904 at the time of writing). He’s the first golfer to have his own NFT collection. But this is unsurprising, given the iconoclastic big hitter has always done things his own way.

NFL All Day

NFL All Day is football’s version of NBA Top Shot. The platforms look the same and Dapper Labs attempts to generate the same hype as each new collection drops. But the prices aren’t as high and the players aren’t as well-known internationally. The highest recorded sale is for a Pat Mahomes’ NFT, and that was for $30,000. One of LeBron’s cards went for $230,000.

F1 Delta Time

F1 Delta Time may be down, but it’s not out. Following news of the platform’s recent demise, it’s safe to say that the game and the collection won’t be going ahead as it was before. But the NFTs are still tradable on secondary markets. Is it possible that people could buy up the NFTs as classic collectibles and monuments to a bygone era? Possibly not, but the collection is one of the classics of the sports NFT genre.

Socios

Another soccer NFT collection, Socios takes its name from the members of Spanish support-run soccer teams. Lionel Messi is a global brand ambassador and Atlético Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium has offered its hallowed turf as a prize for the lucky fan who wins Socio’s upcoming competition. Socios feels like an all-round experience, as opposed to a simple NFT trading platform.

DeRace

Horse-racing is sport, right? If so, then DeRace is a great NFT collection for sports fans. The platform has its own currency, DERC, and players can use their purchased NFTs to run in races. The horse avatars’ current floor price is 0.088 ETH ($300 at the time of writing) and there are prize pools with rewards available for the winning nag.

Zed Run

More pony NFTs here with Zed Run. And it’s no surprise that a pastime with a history of money-making has translated so effectively to the world of blockchain and play-to-earn gaming. You can breed, race and trade horse NFTs on this platform. You can buy one yourself on secondary markets. The floor price currently sits at 0.004 ETH ($14).
