AMC’s long-running flagship drama, The Walking Dead, is releasing NFTs to accompany the premiering of its final, 11th season. As the show prepares to leave our television screens for good, the NFTs are being rolled out as part of the franchise’s multi-year strategy to keep the undead series alive and kicking within the metaverse.

The NFTs will be dropped in multiple collections, with the first taking place on February 20th at 1PM ET, just hours before the premiere of ‘Part 2 of 3’ in the shows’ expanded final season. The collection will include 1,000 generative art NFTs of iconic past and present characters from the franchise, each individually priced at $50. The drop will also include 750 original animations inspired by landmark scenes, which will each cost $250.

In addition, Orange Comet, who serve as the producer and marketplace for all The Walking Dead NFT content, will be selling NFT ‘Walker Access Passes,’ which will be available for purchase for 24 hours, at a price of $311. Each will be a unique, one-of-one NFT that will grant access to exclusive, upcoming The Walking Dead NFT content throughout 2022.

The accumulation of the show’s NFT content, much of which will be released throughout the final season of the show, further provides the premise for the launching of a virtual community which will be centered around the series and its associated digital assets. Here, fans will be given a space to buy, sell and trade their NFTs, along with having the chance to earn real life, flesh-biting experiences which relate to the show.
