Argentina’s football association has paired up with Upland, the Metaverse platform. This partnership comes on the heels of the country’s football triumph in the recent FIFA World Cup competition. As a result, the Argentina football league and Upland partnership makes this the league’s first foray into the Metaverse.
The partnership represents an agreement between the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and the Silicon Valley-based firm, Upland. The gaming platform, Upland, brands itself as ‘the largest virtual property strategy game mapped to the world.’ With this collaboration, AFA will send the Liga Profesional de Fútbol (LPF) on an exciting expedition into the virtual realm.

What are the benefits of the project?
Subsequent to the partnership, some of the opportunities include Argentine football digital collectibles such as clubs, tickets, players, game highlights, exclusive ownership of highlight video moments of LPF matches, and additional exclusive offers. Meanwhile, users will also have the ability to create virtual businesses to resell LPF digital collectibles in user-owned shops located on virtual properties.
Furthermore, the partnership will not only benefit the players; it also benefits Upland and the Argentina football league. Effectively, both parties will earn income as users buy, sell, and trade digital assets.
This is not the only recent Argentinian venture into the Web3 space. Just days ago, a new bill passed called the ‘Financial Innovations for Investment and Socioeconomic Development.’ The bill will see the Argentinian province of San Luis issue ‘San Luis Art Digital Assets’, which feature NFTs and other collectibles from local artists.
The Argentina football league partnership represents another Metaverse development as Upland makes strides in creating a robust digital world.
